Please reach out to us if you cannot find an answer to your question.
Before the appointment, I will send you paperwork to complete. This will include Releases for Telehealth and for HIPAA, as well as contact info and Credit Card information forms. In addition, an Intake Questionnaire will be sent for you to fill out.
During the appointment, we will go over your answers from the Intake questionnaire and delve deeper into your history and current symptoms. We will then make a Diagnosis and Treatment Plan, which we will periodically refer to during your treatment to assess our progress.
To make the most progress, it’s best to come for sessions weekly, although every two weeks or once a month may suffice for some. Sessions are 45 minutes long. Toward the end of each one, we will schedule or confirm the time of your next appointment (and, if you need it, make sure you have enough medication to get through until then). If you have to reschedule, please do so with at least 48 hours notice to avoid being charged for that slot in the schedule. And please suggest some alternative times, especially if you are on a medication, because I do need to see you in order to refill your prescription.
We do not always prescribe medications. In fact, we encourage therapy first and are conservative when prescribing medications. We are realistic that some patients may need medications indefinitely, but for most patients, our goal is to periodically try to reduce medications to the least amount needed, or none ideally.
Once an appointment is scheduled, patients are responsible for paying the full session fee unless they provide at least 48 business hours (2 business days) advance notice of cancellation. Business days are considered weekdays from Monday through Friday and exclude all standard holidays. For example, if a patient has an appointment at 6 pm on Monday, s/he will need to cancel the appointment by 6 pm on the Thursday prior to their appointment. All appointments not cancelled at least 48 business hours prior to the scheduled appointment, and no-show appointments (when a patient fails to show for a scheduled appointment), will be charged the full session fee.
The reason you will be charged if you cancel in less than 48 hours is that we are reserving that time for you. We will not double-book or have any time conflicts because we are saving the time for our appointment. If you cancel with less than 48 hours' notice, we are unable to book someone else in the spot and have lost that time. Unfortunately, we have to charge in these instances.
Still Tranquility strives to provide care above and beyond the current standard of treatment, that is personalized and accessible. Our providers focus 100% of their efforts on treating and improving the lives of his patients. Unfortunately, insurance companies generally do not recognize this level of care. They frequently place hurdles and roadblocks in the way of treatment for well accepted conditions such as Adult ADHD.
Insurance can generally be utilized to cover prescription costs. A Superbill can be provided upon request for reimbursement of appointments. This typically applies to patients with a PPO or similar plan. Patients with Medicare or Medicaid are not eligible for Superbills.
Payment in cash or credit card is due at time of service.
Our is conducted 100% through Telemedicine or "Virtual Medicine." This is significantly more convenient and preferred by patients. Patients do not have to take additional time out of their schedule to sit through traffic, find parking or sit in a waiting room.
Patients are able to receive care from the comfort of their own home, or on their breaks at work or school.
Our providers treat patients across the State of Maryland, New York, and California. Having a singular or multiple office locations, would not be practical for patient care.
Yes, we do. These appointments tend to go fast so availability is usually very slim.
Of course you can! We encourage everyone to get therapy if they are also getting medications, but you don’t have to get therapy with us. If you do have an outside therapist, we will ask you to sign a Release of Information form and will contact your therapist so we can align our treatment.
